    Overview

    To provide courteous and quality service to customers, to make them feel welcome and aware of promotional offers through excellent product knowledge.

    Responsibilities

    1. Responsible for keeping the store orderly and clean.
    2. Accurate accountability of the register
    3. Responsible for providing exceptional customer service and product knowledge. Give quality service to customer by making them feel welcome audiably and with a smile. Share any promotions and product information. Ask if they are a member of the museum, if not tell them the advantages of membership.
    4. Folding of t shirts and some pricing of inventory.
    5. Have knowledge of the information in the museum’s permanent and temporary exhibits.
    6. Constant restock of inventory.
    7. Other duties as assigned.Frequent lifting, bending, pulling, carrying, moving boxes some of which could be heavy or require the use of carts.

    Qualifications

    1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
    2. One year of retail experience, ability to operate a  cash register with knowledge of Point of Sale software.
    3. Ability to multi task is critical. Work with the staff in a spirit of unity, teamwork and cooperation. Understand instructions and work independently. Be friendly and engaging with visitors.
    4. Ability to work in a varying schedule including nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays

    Physical and Other Requirements

    Museum Environment: Frequent lifting, bending, pulling, and filing, which may be heavy (>15 lbs.) and require carts. Frequent standing and walking. Frequent computer work requiring repetitive motion, prolonged sitting and sustained visual/mental demands
