The Pastry Chef assist the Executive Chef in running all facets of the Pastry Kitchen. (S)he Will be expected to provide menus and collaborate with the Executive Chef in planning events, dinners, and layouts. (S)he will be in charge of all Pastry Line Cooks and will report their performance to the Executive Chef.


  1. Oversee/Manage all bake shop operations; production for events, and menu writing; creating, plating, decorating and costing desserts and dessert specials; help develop new menu items.
  2. Manages, train, empower, coach, and counsel the pastry line staff in conjunction with the Executive Chef; supports catering staff as needed.
  3. Coordinate with Exec Chef on cleaning operations, inventory of pastry kitchen, and ordering product for bake shop operations.
  4. Complies with all policies and standards/procedures applicable to the position, including attendance, time, quality control, and other standards; helps keep the kitchen clean, safe and organized.


  1. Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent preferred.
  2. Minimum of 3 years kitchen experience,esp as a baker; 1 year in supervisory role.
  3. Simple Point Of Sale knowledge, Inventory management practices. Ability to cope with varied and fast paced activities; ability to multi task.
  4. Ability to bake and prepare according to specification.
  5. Ability to build relationships with guest & coworkers. 

Physical and Other Requirements

  1. Occasional lifting of heavy (> 20 Lbs) objects, bending, pulling, collating/filing, and occasional lifting,.
  2. Carrying, and/or Moving Boxes, Files, etc., Some of which could be heavy (>20 Lbs) Or Require the use of carts.
  3. Able to withstand hot temperatures for long periods of time while operating standard cooking equipment as designated by the station.
  4. Ability to move about facility.
  5. Stand for long periods of time and able to bend and stoop.
