In response to the recent hurricanes in the Caribbean region, the Clinton Global Initiative is launching an Action Network on Post-Disaster Recovery to address the immediate response needs, as well as the medium- and long-term recovery in the region. The Action Network will convene stakeholders from across sectors and industries to drive action in key focus areas such as energy, infrastructure, health, education, and economic development. Members of the Action Network will develop new, specific, and measure projects – known as Commitments to Action – to improve disaster response and support the sustainable, inclusive, and resilient rebuilding of the region.
The Action Network will support this work by providing its members with opportunities to:
• Identify critical areas of need where they can have the deepest impact;
• Coordinate work and avoid duplication of efforts;
• Network and build new partnerships; and
• Share lessons learned, best practices, and common resources with a larger community.
The Clinton Global Initiative is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Action Network. The Senior Manager, Caribbean Resiliency will:
•Work across the Clinton Foundation to grow the CGI Action Network on Post-Disaster Recovery, serving as the primary point of contact internally at the Clinton Foundation, and as an external contact with Action Network sponsors and supporters.
• Lead the recruitment strategy for the Action Network, securing the engagement of organizations from the private, nonprofit, and government sectors.
• Lead the Commitments to Action strategy to address the response and recovery needs and advance the goals of the Action Network.
• In coordination with the Director of CGI Commitments, oversee the execution of quarterly in-person Action Network meetings. This includes:
o Sponsor engagement
o Event and program design
o Event staffing and production
The Senior Manager, Caribbean Resiliency will sit on the CGI Commitments Team and report to the CGI Director of Commitments. The Senior Manager will supervise three staff: two co-Managers and one Program Associate. Additionally, the Senior Manager will be responsible for lateral coordination across departments at the Clinton Foundation, including CGI Commitments, Clinton Foundation Metrics, the Clinton Climate Initiative, and the Foreign Policy department, among others.
Work across the Clinton Foundation grow the CGI Hurricane Response Action Network, serving as the primary point of contact both internally and externally:
• Serve as the primary internal POC on the Action Network, coordinating across different teams at the Clinton Foundation, including CGI Commitments, Clinton Foundation Metrics, the Clinton Climate Initiative, and the Foreign Policy department, among others.
• Serve as an external POC for Action Network sponsors and other supporters of the Action Network.
• Work with Clinton Foundation Senior Leadership to conceptualize and design Action Network programmatic offerings.
• Lead knowledge-building for the Action Network; working with the Marketing and Communications Team to build a communications and marketing strategy.
• In collaboration with the CGI Director of Commitments and the CF Metrics Team, identify and track the Key Performance Indicators for the Action Network.
Lead recruitment strategy for the Action Network, securing the engagement of organizations from the nonprofit, private, and government sectors:
• Work across the Foundation to identify key organizations from the nonprofit, private, and government sectors to engage in the Action Network.
• Develop a messaging and recruitment strategy to engage priority organizations and secure their ongoing participation throughout the year.
• Work with Clinton Foundation Development and other initiatives to support sponsor cultivation, and lead sponsor engagement for the Action Network.
Lead the Commitment to Action strategy to address the response and recovery needs and advance the goals of the Action Network:
• Work with Senior Leadership at the Clinton Foundation, external advisors, and experts from the region to identify key areas for commitment development.
• Develop a year-long plan of activities (including but not limited to quarterly convenings) to advance Commitments to Action through networking, opportunities to share best practices, workshops, technical advice, etc.
• Provide specific support and guidance to Action Network sponsors re: programmatic engagement and content advising.
Oversee the design and execution of at least four in-person Action Network meetings every year (quarterly basis):
• Lead goal-setting for each Action Network meeting, including program and agenda design, as well as securing the participation of high-level speakers, advisors, and sponsors. .
• As necessary, work with the CGI Director of Commitments and Clinton Foundation Senior Leadership on the design and execution of a large annual event (over 200 people).
• Identify additional staff needs and lead the hiring process for project-based positions as necessary.
• As necessary, create and lead the recruitment and commitment strategy for a large annual event.
Occasional travel to Miami, FL, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Dominica, or Barbuda may be necessary.
Travel for any Action Network meetings as necessary.
Education (Minimum Needed and Type of Degree Needed): Master’s preferred
Work Experience (Minimum Needed): 7-10 years
• Minimum 7 years of experience in general project/program management and/or policy
• Minimum of 5 years of experience related to the Caribbean region specifically or a relevant combination of experience in energy, infrastructure, health, education, or economic development in a global context
• In-depth knowledge of the current issues and historical context of the Caribbean region, including Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Dominica and/or Antigua and Barbuda.
• In-depth knowledge of the implementation of projects/programs in the Caribbean region OR in the broad sectors above from the nonprofit, for profit, and public-sector perspective. Must be familiar with key players and constituencies, as well as current trends and future opportunities
• Significant experience in developing and managing relationships with diverse groups and individuals, including foreign government officials
• Significant experience in grant-writing, business plan development, project design, or other processes resembling Commitment to Action development
• Experience in fundraising or sponsorship cultivation
• Experience in meeting and event design and facilitation

Ability to work some nights and weekends as needed, especially in the weeks and days ahead of in-person meetings
