In response to the recent hurricanes in the Caribbean region, the Clinton Global Initiative is launching an Action Network on Post-Disaster Recovery to address the immediate response needs, as well as the medium- and long-term recovery in the region. The Action Network will convene stakeholders from across sectors and industries to drive action in key focus areas such as energy, infrastructure, health, education, and economic development. Members of the Action Network will develop new, specific, and measure projects – known as Commitments to Action – to improve disaster response and support the sustainable, inclusive, and resilient rebuilding of the region.
The Action Network will support this work by providing its members with opportunities to:
• Identify critical areas of need where they can have the deepest impact;
• Coordinate work and avoid duplication of efforts;
• Network and build new partnerships; and
• Share lessons learned, best practices, and common resources with a larger community.
The Clinton Global Initiative is seeking a Program Associate to support the coordination and operations of the Action Network. The Program Associate, Disaster Response will work with a team of three to:
• Support the execution of the CGI Action Network on Post-Disaster Recovery, serving as primary point of contact for logistical, operational, and administrative matters.
• Support recruitment for the Action Network, which includes managing data related to Action Network members, as well as their organizations and event participation.
• Support the development of Commitments to Action to address the response and recovery needs, including managing data related to commitments, as well as requested briefs and reports.
• Support the execution of at least four Action Network meetings every year, including other opportunities as necessary.
The Program Associate, Disaster Response will sit on the CGI Commitments Team and report to the Senior Manager, Disaster Response. Additionally, the Program Associate will be responsible for lateral coordination across the Clinton Foundation, including Clinton Foundation Metrics Team, the Clinton Climate Initiative, the Foreign Policy Team, and Marketing and Communications.
Support the execution of the Action Network on Post-Disaster Recovery, serving as primary point of contact for all logistical, operational, and administrative matters:
• Serve as the primary internal and external POC for logistical, operational, and administrative matters.
• Work with the co-Managers and Senior Manager, Disaster Response, to support the design and execution of Action Network strategy and programmatic offerings.
• Assist with research, writing, and copyediting for internal briefings and reports or external communications pieces.
• Assist in tracking the Key Performance Indicators for the Action Network.
Support recruitment for the Action Network:
• Organize and support the execution of Action Network offerings outside of the quarterly convenings, including teleconferences, skype calls, small meet-ups, networking opportunities, etc.
• Manage the input and accuracy of participation-related data, including individual data, organizational data, and event-related data.
• Manage external invitation and RSVP processes for Action Network meetings.
• Conduct research on news and emerging issues related to the Caribbean region and disaster response and recovery.
• Conduct research in support of recruitment, at the direction of the Disaster Response team.
Support Commitments to Action for members of the Action Network:
• Support the Managers and Senior Manager, Disaster Response in commitment development
• Manage the input and accuracy of data related to Commitments to Action.
• Manage the reporting and briefing process, both internally and externally, on Action Network activities and commitments.
Support the execution of at least four in-person Action Network meetings every year (quarterly basis):
• Manage the invitation and RSVP process for Action Network meetings.
• Assist with event logistics in advance and on-site, ranging from room set-up to travel and lodging assistance to on-site registration.
• Assist with speaker-related logistics, including invitations, briefing materials, bios, and on-site support.
Education (Minimum Needed and Type of Degree Needed): Bachelor’s degree
Work Experience (Minimum Needed): 1-3 years
• 1-3 years of work experience in a health-, education- or economic empowerment-related field.
• Knowledge of and experience with CRM systems
• Knowledge of and experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
• Knowledge of and experience with data input and analysis
• Experience or interest in meeting and event planning
Skills (e.g. Level of Judgment Required, Ability to Direct, Work Independently, Multi-Task, etc.):
• High-level of attention to detail, coupled with the ability to understand larger organizational needs and build support structures accordingly
• Experience with data input, analysis, and reporting
• Strong project management skills

• Willingness and flexibility to take on other projects as needed and pivot quickly should it be necessary
• Ability to work some nights and weekends as needed, especially in the weeks and days ahead of in-person meetings
