    The IT Associate is responsible for supporting all technologies used within the organization, ranging from telephones to computers to software, and has a direct impact on the productivity of colleagues. S/he will offer the first tier of technical support for the Foundation, offering timely response and resolution to technical issues with a focus on customer service.


    The IT Associate has the capacity to influence existing business processes in order to increase the efficiency of the Foundation.


    1. Provide first tier of technical support for the organization, offering timely, courteous service to fellow colleagues. Troubleshoot laptops, phones, printers, mobile devices, and their associated software and peripherals, escalating as necessary.
    2. Document common technical support issues with resolution, proactively identifying recurring issue areas and implementing solutions. Document standard business processes.
    3. Manage the IT onboarding and offboarding of personnel. Including but not limited to, user account creation, laptop and desk setups and account closeouts.
    4. Assist IT team with various projects.
    5. As requested by the Foundation


    • Education (Minimum Needed and Type of Degree Needed): Associate degree in a technical field
    • Work Experience (Minimum Needed): 1-3 years in a technical support role
    • Specialized Knowledge Needed For Performance of Job: 
      • Expertise in Microsoft operating systems and applications: 7, 8, Active Directory, Office 2010, Office 2013, Office 2016, Office 365. 
      • Experience supporting Mac OS 10.7+ and troubleshooting desk and smart phones: ShoreTel, Blackberry, Android, iPhone.
    • Skills (e.g. Level of Judgment Required, Ability to Direct, Work Independently, Multi-Task, etc.): Ability to problem solve. Excellent judgment and decision making. Ability to work independently and with a team. Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize on an ongoing basis.
    • Special Skills (e.g. Technical, Advanced): Troubleshooting face-to-face, over the phone, and via email.
    • Other (Communication Skills, Mechanical Aptitude, Math Skills, Learning Skills, or Other Specific Skills Required): Strong reasoning and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to rapidly and independently learn new technologies.
    • Microsoft and other technical certifications desired. Familiarity with scripting (VBScript, PowerShell), Microsoft SharePoint, Group Policy, WSUS, HP products, and Web Help Desk a plus.
    • On call 24x7x365

    Physical and Other Requirements

    • Standard office environment. Fast-paced. Demanding.
    • This position will be based out of the 1633 Broadway office but may require occasional travel to other locations.
    • Occasional travel, which may require walking distances, lifting & carrying luggage and boxes, and prolonged periods of sitting in tight quarters.
    • Constant standing, moving, bending and crawling under desks to connect, disconnect and troubleshoot equipment.
    • Constant computer work which may require repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting, and sustained visual and mental application and demand.
    • Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, pulling, collating/filing, and occasional lifting, carrying, and/or moving boxes, files, etc., some of which could be heavy or require the use of carts.
